I Have Seen the Future of Metal
...and it is these two kids. The guitarist is obviously awesome, but the singer is even better.

My Eyes Hurt, My Brain Hurts...
...OK Go must have released a new music video. If only these fellas spent half as much time crafting their songs as they do crafting the videos. Still, it is an awesome watch (as always)

Cultural Oddities: The Beards
Given that we've reached "peak beard", it is unsurprising that someone has written a beard anthem. However, I wasn't expecting The Beards, a band who exclusively write beard related material. Check out their Soundcloud to enjoy tracks such as "I Like Beards", "Touch Me in the Beard", "Damn, That's a Nice Beard", "Hey You, Grow a Beard" and the classic "I Have a Beard and it Looks Really Good". I realise I'm biased, but I'm pretty sure this is amazing.

Skinny Puppy Music Used as Torture Device, Band Invoice US Government
In an interview with The Phoenix New Times, cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy has revealed his response to discovering that his music was used as a torture device
"We heard through a reliable grapevine that our music was being used in
Guantanamo Bay prison camps to musically stun or torture people...We heard
that our music was used on at least four occasions. So we thought it
would be a good idea to make an invoice to the U.S. government for
musical services"

Is Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" Porn?
No, it isn't. Much closer to the mark would be a cover of the song featuring a porn star such as the legend Ron Jeremy. Viewer beware: the above video contains scenes of singin' and swingin'.
What happens when OK Go are given money from Chrysler?
What happens when OK Go are given money from Chrysler? This madness, which looks like a set piece from Sound of Noise.

Cultural Oddities:Youn Sun Nah - Enter Sandman Cover
This version of Metallica's Enter Sandman is perhaps one of the oddest cover songs I've heard. If you don't dig it, skip to mid-way through to heat her wail.

Song of the Day: Karma Police Cover
I'm no fan of Radiohead. Maybe if they sounded like this instead, I'd like them more

TesseracT: Altered State (2013) Full Album Stream
Brit-Prog-Djenters TesseracT are currently streaming their new album in full on YouTube. Well worth a listen. I am a big fan of artists offering a 'try-before-you-buy' streaming system: the music should be enough to persuade punters to part with their cash. In TesseracT's case the album is a grower, so it especially benefits from this kind of exposure. Altered State also works well as one continuous piece, as it is presented here.

Song of the Day: The Dillinger Escape Plan - When I Lost My Bet
Oh those cheeky sell-outs with their soft-hearted ballads - it's all a bit shmooshy and lite, but I can't help but love the cuddly lil' fellas
